OtheRSync

OtheRSync has been depreciated, I suggest you use [Unison]

After the release of OtheRSync someone e-mailed me that a program called [Unison] existed already. Unison does the same thing as OtheRSync, only better and even between Windows and Linux machines (not that I think of ever using this feature myself ;-). Last summer when I started looking for programs doing synchronisation in two directions I didn't find it. When I found time to make one myself last week I didn't check again for other existing programs.

During this weekend, after I'd released OtheRSync v0.6 last friday, I came to the conclusion that it 'd be totally useless for me to go on spending time on OtheRSync. Even though the problems involved in synchronizing in the most efficient and safe way (really not what OtheRSync had under the hood yet) are interesting to think about (I've even made a design of that optimal system just for the sake of the puzzle that's in there last friday evening...). Unison comes close enough to that and it's there already. And last but not least Open Source is all about cooperation, so I suggest you check Unison out [here].

I have written a wrapper script that makes Unison only report clashes (changes on both sides etc.) if it runs in batch mode (cron takes care of the e-mailing).

You can find it and more info about it on the UnisonWrap page.
